IRS Enrolled Agent, Certified Financial Planner,
U.S. Army Veteran
About Scott vance
I bring the same dedication, integrity, and attention to detail to my tax practice that I carried throughout my military career.
I grew up in Pennsylvania, enlisted in the Army National Guard after high school, and commissioned as an Army officer after King's College. I served in Field Artillery during the initial invasion of Iraq, then spent years in Civil Affairs working out of U.S. embassies across Asia — including a year at the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal. Those experiences shaped the discipline and commitment to service I bring to every client relationship today.
After retiring from the Army, I earned my IRS Enrolled Agent credential and became a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), launching my own tax practice in 2016. In 2022 I returned to federal service with the USDA, deploying with a National Incident Management Team during the avian influenza outbreak — all while continuing to serve my tax clients. Since accepting a USDA buyout, I've fully reinvigorated Taxvanta and am proud to be taking on new clients.

Beyond the Office
I'm a proud father to an 18-year-old son currently in college. When I'm not working with clients, you'll find me staying active through CrossFit and scuba diving. That same dedication, integrity, and attention to detail I carried through 20+ years of military service is what I bring to your tax return.
